Kathleen obtained a law degree from the University of Windsor in 2008. Prior to the establishment of the Kathleen Jin Law Office, Kathleen worked in the finance department of the Chinese division of a multinational company, acted as a project officer in a not-for-profit international organization, and ran a consulting business with her husband. During her articling year in the Ottawa office of one of the top business law firms in Canada, Kathleen was involved in many aspects of the firm’s practice such as civil litigation, advising clients, reviewing contracts, and drafting various legal documents.

Since being called to the Bar in 2009, Kathleen has devoted her career to providing high-standard and professional legal services for clients in the Greater Ottawa Area and across Ontario. During the past decade, her strengths exhibited in her previous career and her commitment to excellent legal services have allowed her to expand her legal practice to an array of areas of law, including civil litigation, wills and estates, real estate, business law, immigration, and family law. Throughout her practice, Kathleen has shown a great deal of professionalism and dedication to every client regardless of their background. Clients’ needs are met through individually tailored legal solutions, meticulous legal research and preparation, strict adherence to professional ethics and conduct, and a strong sense of empathy. Kathleen believes in the importance of understanding clients from their unique perspective. That is why she has always taken the time to listen to their voice and has gone the extra mile to ensure the same.

Outside of her hard work, Kathleen is a mother of two precious children. While sparing no effort to protect and pursue the interest of her clients at work, Kathleen tries her best to balance her family time with her work life. She enjoys cooking and spending time with her husband and kids. Having immigrated to Canada herself, Kathleen cares a lot about newcomers who may be struggling to start a new life here. That is why she chooses to volunteer for the International Student Friendship Program at the University of Ottawa.

Kathleen is an experienced and professional lawyer, but also just a pleasant person to be around. If you need to contact a lawyer, the Kathleen Jin Law Office will gladly be at your service.
